Being young today in Germany |
Searching
of myself
The most of the youth need much time to search themselves. They orientate themselves by their examples. That are either stars, the parents or partly the teachers. The influences of their friends and their family are very important. Their family gives them the ideas of the moral, what’s bad and good but in the age of 11 to 18 they must find it out and might find it out.
Moods
One
time shouting with joy and in the next moment they are depressed. That’s
what you know about young people. They don’t want it but they can’t do
it otherwise. This mood revolution is coming from the “Endorfinen”.
Unfortunately
some people get depressions and /or suicideconcepts , because
they see no reason to find the life great. They express their
emotions by music. So if they feel bad they listen to sad music and so on.
On principle
That the youth must still become, what they still aren’t, isn’t something new. But always the adults pretend, that it it’s too difficult to associate with us and that they hope that we grow into their society etc. “Yes that’s right, but where else?”, I can just argument! To such foolish apprehensions we must listen to every day. Than naturally every little fit of rage is marked as a “sense crisis” and naturally we must listen to our parents, who tell their friends, that we are at the moment in “such a phase”, what is so normal for this age. What will happen to us, what we will be isn’t a secret : We get older and learn, how we were sooner and what is typical for which age. Because of these rules it will be passed from generation to generation, that growing-up to an adult is complicated!

The
television behavior
591
pupils between 11 and
15 years were asked when they watch and how long they
watch TV.
Children with their own TV watch more than the others.
At weekend (Saturday
and Sunday) TV is watched three or two and a half hours a day.
Girls watch an hour less than boys.
Every day 84% of the children sit in front of the TV set. The main-watching
times are between 6pm and 10pm , at the weekend between 7pm and 11pm. On an average every family has
two TV sets, more of a half of the pupils have their own TV. The children and teenagers today watch more entertainment shows than news!
German

There is a soap called “Fall in love in berlin”. It’s about an ugly woman who falls in love
with her boss. But he doesn’t recognize her. Can she still win his heard?
The next soap is called “Good times, bad times”. It’s about different people with their
different stories.

Reading attitude by the teens of today
A study of the reading foundation has shown that there is no need to
speak of a drop in reading interests.
Meanwhile, reading is very important to go to school, although not very
much. Now there is a triple of pupils more than in 1992 saying they
fly over a text sor-ting out only the most important facts.
The general reading attitude has changed, often you can only recognize a “mouthful
wise” reading- that means only three or four pages a day.
The study showed also, that school doesn’t influence the reading
attitude of pu-pils. Often pupils don’t listen to the advise of the
teachers. It turned out that the books read in school aren’t accepted by
pupils.
They also found out that girls prefer reading stories, boys however are interes-ted in non-fiction
texts which belong to their interests.
At school however books are read which are general known by society and
which are added to the general education. It is more difficult to read
books which are for a special individual. So books covering all interests
are read. But those are often classic books and that is the problem: the
students aren’t interes-ted in books written with difficult words.
Until now there is no explanation for the difference of reading interests.
In fact, even 3-years-old boys are
more interested in books telling of topics like “the fire engine”.
A professor told us the theory of the topic “why are so many teens
watching so much TV?” that the boys of the 20th century
have a wrecked and damaged man-liness and that they repare it with these
films on TV.
But you can use this explanation only for some of them, after all there
are also girls who watch TV or boys who read books.
The last survey showed that more and more teenies feel ok
when they do with-out books and only watch Tv and so on.
270
pupils were asked from 10 to 16:
45%
don’t read ; that means no books with stories;
55%
read some books ;
40%
read sometimes and fewer than 15%
read regular.
96%
of library books are borrowed by girls, although 82%
of those prefer reading TV-magazines;
81%
teenie-magazines ;
73%
actual magazines and
47% woman-magazines.
